The Brian Pratt Chester Road Club 50 mile time trial took place on Sunday 1st September starting at Prees in Shropshire. The weather was good with sunshine and very little breeze which in TT terms means ‘perfect’. The 65 strong field set off after a season’s racing in their legs and Winter training beckoning. The perfect conditions meant that the the winner Phil Williams from Liverpool Phoenix CC (Aintree) raced around the course just shy of 30 miles an hour to finish in a time of 01:40:39 (course record to be verified). Deb Hutson-Lumb, Nova Raiders CC won the fastest ladies in 02:06:36, whose times also claimed the prize for the the the best Veteran on Standard too! And our very own Chester Road Club legend Jill Wilkinson took second fastest lady with 02:09:18 with Liverpool Phoenix winning the fastest team prize . All in all a great day’s time trailing. Thank you to all who supported the event and particular thanks to the organisers, sign on crew, timekeepers, marshals and catering.
