This is mostly dual carriageway out and back.
On the D25/6a A483 – Starting on the southbound carriageway a few miles from Chester City Centre, you will set off from a lay-by just over the Welsh border and head South via Wrexham for circa 11.5 miles where you will drop off the carriageway at the Ruabon / Overton turn off, head under the carriageway and rejoin the northbound side heading back towards Chester.
Passing the startline then another couple of miles to the finish situated at the roadside 250 metres before the traffic lights at the junction with the (Old) Wrexham Road.
HQ is at Pulford Village Hall **PLEASE NOTE THIS IS DIFFERENT TO LAST YEAR’S HQ**.
Rollers / Turbos should not be used for warm up at HQ and warm ups must be carried out on roads in the surrounding area. It is approx 4.5 miles from the HQ to the startline.
No competitors are allowed to park their vehicles in the lay-by at the startline for safety of riders in the event please.
Standard rules of front and rear lights must be displayed and a helmet worn by all riders of the event.
No warming up on the course.
Costs
Costs to enter TTs and races vary greatly, from £5 to enter our club 10 mile TT to around £25 to enter a British Cycling race on the open road where car/motorbike escorts and other safety logistics are required. Licence/membership fees are in addition to TT/race entry fees.
Helmets
Helmets are compulsory for all Club time trials and those races where the rules and regulations of the relevant governing body apply.
Marshals and Timekeepers
Marshals are put in place to improve safety of an event by increasing awareness for other road users, all events expect riders to be self aware of the course and the route. You must obey any instructions given and the timekeepers decision is final! Marshals are an important and necessary requirement for club racing and time trials. Without them the club cannot promote or organise events. As a club member, you are requested to volunteer your time and marshal one of the club events each year. Giving up a couple of hours once a year to help out ensures we can continue to function as an active cycling club.
